Vision

To create a conducive learning environment that fosters academic excellence by providing sufficient teaching and learning infrastructure, complemented by adequate recreational facilities, reliable water and energy supply and efficient transport system  thereby enhancing the overall educational experience.

Mission

The Department of Works & Estates is dedicated to enhancing infrastructural development and maintenance to support the institution’s teaching, learning, and recreational needs. We aim to provide efficient transport services, ensure adequate water and energy supply, and create a conducive environment for all faculty and departments.

Works Department Structure

  • The department consists of the Campus Manager as the head of the department, maintenance supervisors, maintenance technicians, drivers, and grounds staff.
  • It is currently constituted of 6 sections, namely building maintenance section, carpentry section, transport section, grounds section, electrical section and landscaping section.
  • The department needs to undergo restructuring in line with the state model of universities though the government is not the main contractor for the institution construction projects.
  • This will see the department having the requisite human resources such as project officers, transport officers, security officers, clerk of works and other technical staff relevant in the successfully maintenance of buildings and estates as well as implementing capital projects.
