Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and ensure system availability, reliability, and security.
• Perform routine network maintenance and upgrades.
• Provide first-line support for network connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot LAN, WLAN, and WAN problems promptly to minimize downtime.
• Assist staff and students with network-related technical issues.
• Implement and enforce network security measures (antivirus, firewalls, VPN, access controls).
• Monitor for unauthorized access, network intrusions, and resolve vulnerabilities.
• Ensure compliance with institutional ICT policies and national data protection laws.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation.
• Prepare and submit network status and incident reports to ICT management.
• Keep an updated inventory of network equipment.
• Work with the ICT team to support new projects and technology rollouts.
• Train end-users on basic connectivity and safe network usage practices.
• Liaise with service providers for escalated support and infrastructure improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

The candidate should possess the following key competencies:

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent from recognized institutions.
• Professional qualification in Networking.
• Knowledge of Sophos XG firewall.
• Applicant should have at least two years' experience in the field of Networking.
