Role Structure

The department is headed by the Pro Vice-Chancellor and includes the Central Services Manager, the Central Services Clerk, and the Cleaners.

Departmental Mandate and Focus is to:

  • Ensure the office maintenance has been met, including cleaning and polishing of furniture.
  • Restrooms are maintained.
  • Stock control of all cleaning materials and detergents.
  • Raising requisitions for cleaning materials.
  • To ensure that we provide a conducive environment for staff, students, and visitors.
  • The boundaries surrounding the offices and corridors are cleaned daily.
  • Responsible for hiring out facilities.
  • Arrange venue for events, for example, conferences, weddings….
  • Responsible for external mail deliveries.

Notable Initiatives

  • Customer Experience initiatives: Feedback mechanisms, service level agreements, and customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Staff development initiatives: Training and development programs.
  • Innovation: Establish Innovation incubators to foster creativity and innovation within department.
